Snowmobiling

Eagle River is considered the snowmobile capital of the world.  Eagle River is home to the famed derby track which host one of the largest and most prestigious races in the world.  The Valvoline World Championship Snowmobile derby is held here every year.  There are also thousands of miles of groomed snowmobile trails.  The trails are really amazing in that they pretty much go everywhere and as long as you can read the markers you will never get lost.  We made a day trip up to the upper peninsula of Michigan and it was a great time.  There is every type of trail on the way.  There is the woods trail which has the sharp turns and trees on both sides so it really keeps you on the edge of your seat.  For riders who are new the trails are just like a road, you stay on the right side.  If you are going around a blind curve or going up a hill stay on the right to avoid oncoming riders.  This attracts people from around the world.  This attraction gets five stars because it is definitely something that everyone needs to experience.
